The horizontal leg should be wide enough to extend all the way across the edge of the ledger, while the vertical leg should extend. Measure the distance between the nearest deck post and the wall of the house.
The deck flashing then rolls over the edge of the ledger board, and the deck boards rest on top of it.
How to attach a deck to a house with wood siding. Start by making an outline on the siding where you want to position the ledger board. Your deck can be dangerous if you fail to set up a continuous handrail of the deck on the stairs. Slip the back flashing under the siding at least 3″ at the top and the sides.

So, follow the guidance of the manufacturer for proper size and type. Remove enough of the siding so you can tuck flashing behind the siding above the ledger and allow it to overhang the siding below the ledger. If necessary, raise the deck to its original height by temporarily installing 2×6 support posts beneath the deck.
Another mistake is to install hardware in the wrong way and use the wrong fasteners. This is the length of the last span of deck railing. Now follow the steps to attach a deck to a brick house foundation.
If you're drilling into a wood wall covered with siding, use a drill bit approximately half the size of the lag bolt. You may need to pry out the siding first. Temporarily brace the deck against the house with 2×4 stakes and 2×6 diagonal braces.

Drill holes into the house with the hand drill. The outer sides will attach to the top of the girders and form a deck’s frame. Slip the siding up and around the door.
Subtract 1/4 inch to allow the rails to fit into the railing mounts. Nail the z flashing over the top of the ledger. Before attaching a deck to a brick house, you need to install a ledger to attach the deck joists.
When nailing your vinyl z flashing to the house, be sure to nail every 12″ along the house with roofing nails.
